Breast modelling is another way to return breasts to their original shape. The goal of this surgery is to lift the breasts, make them firmer, and improve the general shape of breasts, which could have sagged after significant weight loss or pregnancy, for instance.
The surgery is suitable for:
Women who have asymmetrical or sagging breasts, but who wish to retain their size.
When to undergo surgery:
The surgery is available to women over the age of 18.
What to expect:
Breasts look more youthful and are firmer after modelling.
How is the surgery performed:
Modelling is carried out under general anaesthesia. However, the procedure always depends on the extent of modelling. With less sagging breasts, the incision can be made around the nipples, slightly downward and then around to the outer side of the crease below the breast. This leads to a smaller scar which will not be visible even with low cleavage.
For much saggier breasts, the skin is not only removed around the nipples but also in the lower part of the breast. This leads to small scars in various places: around the nipples, below the nipples and in the crease below the breasts.
Length of hospitalisation:
You will spend one to two days at the clinic. Sports and other strenuous physical activities should be avoided for 4 weeks.
What to expect after surgery:
Drains are removed from the breasts on the second day after surgery. Breasts are then bound with a bandage, which is removed on the second day after surgery. Pressure massage of scars is recommended about fourteen days after surgery. Special creams for scars should also be used. About one month after surgery, the patient should begin wearing a firm, elastic bra without underwires. Women should not engage in strenuous physical activities sooner than one month after surgery.
